Anne-Laure Le Cunff, the woman who picks the human brain
Impressive science-based work, enthusiasm and consistency formed a digital empire
Here’s another author who fascinates me. In fact, she is much more than an author alone:
Anne-Laure Le Cunff, “The Gals’ Guy”, has a background in neuroscience of education at King’s College London and is obsessed about how the human brain works.
She founded Ness Labs, a totally fascinating digital place: Thoughtful articles, a community for curious minds, and a newsletter with more than 30,000 subscribers make a unique combo.
Anne-Laure writes science-based content to answer the question: “How can we make the most of our lives without sacrificing our mental health?”.
The articles are about mental models, learning how to learn, the science of curiosity, how to manage fear of failure, time anxiety and impostor syndrome. Kind of like your “mental gym”.
The Ness Labs community is a place for thoughtful conversations—to think about thinking, and learn about learning.
The community is for curious minds, self-learners, and lifelong explorers who want to understand the intricacies of the human mind. It’s a space to ask questions, start important discussions, and expand your mind.
Maker Mind is a newsletter with neuroscience-based insights on learning, creativity, and productivity. It already has 30,000 fans who read it weekly. I’m a subscriber, and I totally enjoy reading it!
Note-taking in public
Software devs like me build in public, Anne-Laure Le Cunff takes notes in public. Mental Nodes, her “digital garden”, allows you a fantastic insight into her way of thinking. She makes a beautiful analogy to gardening:
planting seeds (smart personal notes)
growing trees (forming new branches and connecting the dots)
producing fruit (going from collector to creator)
